Next Rookies  Shield - August 31 

If you didn't win a trophy last time, don't quit! All champions started out losing more games than they won! An important part of any champion's character is their refusal to just 'give up'. Besides, I will be awarding 'Most Improved' trophies for everyone who scores one point more than last time. There could be trophies flying in all directions! So watch out...one might be headed your way!

Format:           Play will consist of 7 rounds with competitors playing opponents on equal or                       near equal score. Each round will last a maximum of 20 minutes

                      i.e. Each player will be allotted 10 minutes per game. 

             Chess clocks are used for this purpose and will be explained on the day.

Prizes:            Trophies will be awarded for 1^st, 2^nd & 3^rd in Open, Under 12,10 and 8

                                                           $300.00 in cash prizes!

                                              At the end of the year, add up all the points you scored.

                                              The player with the most points wins $150

                                              Second highest wins $100

                                              Third highest wins    $50
