Dear Wayne, this is a brief note to say how much much I have enjoyed working with you this year. As a chess club tutor at Heany Park Primary School you have not only taught students techniques and strategies for playing a chess-game, but also provided principles that guide important learning skills such as being co-operative members of a group, negotiation and compromise by general consensus, mind discipline, lateral thinking, problem solving and other positive behaviours.                                                          Yep, life skills and challenging mind games make for a happy and wholesome individual and hopefully we as teachers can work towards achieving this goal.                                                                                                  Thank you for giving our students a sense of purpose, good sportsmanship, positive attitudes, achievement and success this year and through-out the years that you have been involved in chess at Heany Park P.S. ( Chess Club Co-ordinator - 2004 )                                                                                                   [ H.P.P.S have won their Chess Victoria Zone Championship in 2002, 2003 and placed 2nd in 2004  ]

Dear Wayne, thank you for teaching my son Joseph how to play chess. He has thoroughly enjoyed the program and was looking forward to trying to qualify to represent the school.                             Unfortunately our family is changing schools. We are moving to Fairhills P.S where we hope a chess program may be starting soon.                                                                                                                                  You obviously have a real talent for the game and also at teaching children, as Joseph is well equipped with secret strategies that enable him to beat the rest of our family!                                                                    So congratulations to you and best wishes for your future. ( Joe's mum - Boronia Heights P.S )

Thank you to everyone who helped to create this page...which is just a tiny fraction of all the letters and cards I have received over the years! For those who have a talent for self-expression, I would be very interested to read your efforts on the subject of  'Why I like Chess' - I will place the best ones  on this web-site so that your ideas can be shared with other chess-players, non-players, parents and teachers.               Wayne Guy - 2004
